Cascina Cuccagna is a unique space in Milan: an old far-mhouse conserved in the city center that has become a thriving cultural and community center.Built in 1695, it reopened its doors in 2012 following a com-prehensive restoration carried out by Associazione Consorzio Cantiere Cuccagna with the support of the local community. Cascina Cuccagna is an authentic oasis in a highly urbanized area: 4000 square meters of interior space, courtyards and gardens. The core of the Cascina’s activities and projects are dedicated to sustainability, healthy food, urban agriculture, circular economies, artisanal craftmanship, cultural and social innovation.Just a few years after reopening, Cascina Cuccagna became beloved for its uniqueness and as a destination for community gatherings at the bar, restaurant, guesthouse, bicycle park, florist and cooking school.
Matteo Ragni was born in Milan in 1972. He took a degree in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. Since 1994 he has focused on design in a wide range of industrial and crafts contexts, concentrating on questions of function combined with typological innovation. He has worked for many companies, often mixing his activity as a designer with the role of creative director, creating perfectly synchronized systems of communication and production.
